Yoga for inner peace and longevity

On the occasion of International Yoga Day, as a person who has been practicing yoga for almost twelve years now, I wanted to pen down on why Yoga matters. I know I'm 'parroting' what everyone's been saying but that just means it's that important. :) :)

For most of you, Yoga is kapalbhatti (is this how you write it? :/ )  and shravasana (sleeping pose).
But it's way more than that (duh).

Yoga is ideally practiced at dawn and dusk, at 6 am and 6 pm, and if done properly can do wonders for your emotional and physical health.

Yoga helps lower your cortisol (the 'stress' hormone) levels. On that note, you need not actually feel stressed to be stressed - Cortisol soars high in most of us because of lack of sleep. So don't be surprised if you don't sleep enough and develop a pot belly!

For those who work from 9 to 5 or more, travel from Virar to Airoli, work in night shifts, practicing Yoga daily should be a top priority.

How to practice Yoga if you don't have time?
Simple. Make time :)

What to practice? Can't afford classes.
Google. You'll find a lot of youtubers teaching Yoga online. Short simple routine involving breathing techniques and subtle meditation exercises should be enough. Enough if it's just 20 minutes a day, make it a priority.

Wish you a happy, long and healthy life!
